Booklet -Theater der Jungen Welt, Leipzig

We designed a booklet for the children’s theater in Leipzig/Germany. The local theater educator put us in charge of that. The task was to find all the information about the events and put them in a chronological timeline. The illustrations develop parallel to the content, they become more and more present in the booklet. To guide different interest groups, we developed also some icons.

The booklet is one of four booklets, wich will be delivered as a bundle in a transparent bag.

Exhibitionposter for Gallery Hier + Jetzt

In June 2016 we presented our work at the gallery Hier + Jetzt in Leipzig/ Germany.

I wanted to make a very special poster.
I decided to do some experiments on our proof press to bring our old lady back to live again. As you already know Rainbow posters does what everybody is looking for: brilliant and damn good looking artwork! It’s pure eye-candy!

This is where my likewise brilliant idea came from to use wine gums as a cliché to print from. The color choice is foreseeable, but such a color grading from the proof press has its very own glamour, which in the end is what suits us perfectly, doesn’t it?

Tarentatec

It’s rare but sometimes it’s happening. You’ll meet the band for the first time and it’s a perfect match.

Tarentatec is doing maniac music for dreamers, dancers and dickheads since 2005. They’re preaching their own vision of what music can be, or should be, to their friends and family in a super intense and unique way. The same way I felt during the whole process designing and printing the artwork for their new LP: Lunatics. Eight Years of work to combine and visualize by a rich puzzle of forms and colors on 26 x 26 cm.

To add a piece of work to this never ending „coming of age“-story made us very proud and happy.

Algiers

The Poster is one of the most important media in visuell history.
It always transferred political or cultural announcements in a very clear and direct way to the people. That’s the main idea for the poster and the music from Algiers.

It’s all based on the African American work songs between the seventeenth and nineteenth century, the gospel-like repetition and echo in the voice of Franklin James Fisher and the industrial steam sound, which it all cumulates.
At the end the music is very deep, intense and vivid.

Built to spill 2

The “Untethered Moon-Tour” from Built to Spill in 2015 inspired Holob (M. Färber) and me to create a poster which presents mr. moon as a traveller. He represents somebody, who is starting to breaks free from all boundaries and starts to follow his on path.

This is the way Built to Spill makes music for decades, far away from the uniformed sound of the big music business but nonetheless successful.

Twin Peaks

“The thing with Bowie is that it’s like liking five different artists. I think we’ve tried to establish that we can change our identity like that. Probably not as drastically as he does, but… don’t chain yourself down to anything.” – Twin Peaks.

We aimed for that feeling as well. This poster represents the Rainbow style, displaying typical 60’s style in shapes and colors like the sound from the Twin Peaks guys doe’s.

Built to Spill 1

Oldie but Goldie! This is an early collaboration from Holob ( M. Färber ) and me where I was mainly responsible for the upper part. The guy really wants to get his hands on the table but somehow is not encouraged enough at that time. A weird illustration, which shows our very personal interpretation of the Built to Spill music.
